What it handles

The setup work you usually do by hand.

DemoCue turns repeatable demo prep into local profiles: apps, URLs, files, wallpaper, Focus shortcuts, cleanup actions, and restore snapshots.

Open the right workspace

Launch apps, open URLs and files, choose browser profiles, and run local Shortcuts or scripts.

Hide the mess

Hide or quit distracting apps, clean up desktop icons, set Dock behavior, and switch wallpaper.

Come back cleanly

End the demo or trigger Panic Restore to put captured settings back where DemoCue found them.

How DemoCue works

A clear path from profile to restore.

01

Create a profile

Choose apps, links, files, wallpaper, Focus shortcuts, and cleanup actions.

02

Run pre-flight

Catch missing files, invalid URLs, risky app quits, and broken scripts before the demo.

03

Start from the menu bar

Launch your setup without digging through windows while the call is starting.

04

End or Panic Restore

Restore only the changes DemoCue recorded for the active session.

Product visuals

Illustrations based on the real DemoCue screens.

The site uses the same language as the app: macOS panels, pinned profile pills, amber active states, red Panic Restore, and quiet local-history surfaces.

Profiles

Profile cards with Start, pinned badge, last run, and app, URL, and file counts.

Pre-flight

Severity warnings, destructive quit acknowledgement, Test Run, and Start Anyway.

Active demo

Menu bar popover with amber active dot, elapsed timer, End Demo, and Panic Restore.

History

Session log, action results, warnings, restore summary, and export.

Built for live demo pressure

When the call starts, your Mac should already be ready.

DemoCue keeps risky actions visible, requires pre-flight review, and keeps Panic Restore one click away while the demo is active.

Dry Test Run

Preview setup without changing your Mac.

Pre-flight warnings

Review missing resources and destructive actions before start.

Panic Restore

Immediately restore captured session changes if something feels off.

FAQ

Answers before the screen share starts.

Can I try DemoCue before buying?

Yes. DemoCue is planned for a 14-day full-featured trial, then a license is required to start new demos.

How many Macs can use one license?

A personal license is planned for 2 Mac activations, with support available for resets when moving to a new Mac.

What happens if someone copies the app?

The notarized app can be copied, but starting demos after the trial requires a valid Lemon Squeezy license key and an available activation.

Can DemoCue work offline?

Yes after activation, within a limited offline grace period. DemoCue uses locally stored license data in Keychain.

Will DemoCue block restore if my trial expires?

No. End Demo, Panic Restore, history export, and local data access are never blocked by licensing.

Does DemoCue record my screen?

No. DemoCue does not request Screen Recording permission and does not capture or analyze your screen.

Does DemoCue upload my files?

No. Profiles, settings, and session history stay on your Mac in Application Support.

Why does DemoCue need file access?

To open files, apps, and wallpapers you selected. DemoCue stores local macOS bookmarks for those items.

What happens if a file is moved?

Pre-flight warns you before start, and the failed action is logged in History if you continue.

Can DemoCue force quit apps?

No. Force quit is not available in 0.1.0.

Can I use scripts?

Yes. Scripts run locally, have a 30-second timeout, and should be treated as an advanced feature.

How do I uninstall DemoCue?

Quit DemoCue, delete DemoCue.app, and optionally remove the local Application Support folder.

Where is my data stored?

~/Library/Application Support/DemoCue
