FAQ

Common questions.

Can I try DemoCue before buying?

Yes. DemoCue is planned for a 14-day full-featured trial, then a license is required to start new demos.

How many Macs can use one license?

A personal license is planned for 2 Mac activations, with support available for resets when moving to a new Mac.

What happens if someone copies the app?

The notarized app can be copied, but starting demos after the trial requires a valid Lemon Squeezy license key and an available activation.

Can DemoCue work offline?

Yes after activation, within a limited offline grace period. DemoCue uses locally stored license data in Keychain.

Will DemoCue block restore if my trial expires?

No. End Demo, Panic Restore, history export, and local data access are never blocked by licensing.

Does DemoCue record my screen?

No. DemoCue does not request Screen Recording permission and does not capture or analyze your screen.

Does DemoCue upload my files?

No. Profiles, settings, and session history stay on your Mac in Application Support.

Why does DemoCue need file access?

To open files, apps, and wallpapers you selected. DemoCue stores local macOS bookmarks for those items.

What happens if a file is moved?

Pre-flight warns you before start, and the failed action is logged in History if you continue.

Can DemoCue force quit apps?

No. Force quit is not available in 0.1.0.

Can I use scripts?

Yes. Scripts run locally, have a 30-second timeout, and should be treated as an advanced feature.

How do I uninstall DemoCue?

Quit DemoCue, delete DemoCue.app, and optionally remove the local Application Support folder.

Where is my data stored?

~/Library/Application Support/DemoCue

Troubleshooting

Useful fixes and diagnostics.

Reveal local data folder

Open DemoCue Settings and choose Show Local Data, or open this folder in Finder:

~/Library/Application Support/DemoCue

Reset local data

Quit DemoCue first, then remove the DemoCue folder inside Application Support. This deletes local profiles, settings, and history.

Export logs

Open History, select a session, and choose Export Log. Send the JSON file with your support email.

Launch at Login

Toggle Launch at Login in DemoCue Settings. If macOS does not show the item right away, check System Settings, General, Login Items.

Panic Restore

Panic Restore restores only changes recorded in the active session snapshot. If there is no active session, DemoCue reports that gracefully.

Activation limit reached

Personal licenses are planned for 2 Macs. Deactivate an old Mac from Settings, or contact support for a manual reset.

Trial ended

You can still view profiles, export history, reveal local data, and restore an active demo. Buy a license to start new demos.

License screen

Settings shows trial days remaining, licensed email, activation count, Deactivate this Mac, and Manage License.

Uninstall DemoCue

Quit DemoCue, delete DemoCue.app from Applications, and optionally remove ~/Library/Application Support/DemoCue.
