Install notes

Install in five calm steps.

DemoCue is a direct-distribution macOS app. Keep it in Applications and leave it available from the menu bar before your first rehearsal.

  1. Download DemoCue.dmg when the public artifact is available.
  2. Open the DMG.
  3. Drag DemoCue to Applications.
  4. Open DemoCue.
  5. Keep DemoCue in the menu bar for Start, End Demo, and Panic Restore.

If macOS says it is checking the app, wait a moment.

Direct-distributed macOS apps can take a little time to verify on first open. Public DemoCue builds will be signed and notarized before this page links to a downloadable DMG.

Trial and license

Public app download. Paid license activation.

The app file can be public. DemoCue uses paid access through a 14-day full-featured trial, a Lemon Squeezy license key, a 2-Mac activation limit, and license data stored in Keychain for offline grace.

Safety rule

Licensing gates starting new demos after the trial, not restore. End Demo, Panic Restore, local history export, and local data access remain available even if activation fails.

Activation model

Gentle licensing, not hostile DRM.

14-day full trial

Try every demo workflow first. After the trial, a license is required to start new demos.

2 Mac activations

One personal license covers a laptop and desktop, with support resets when you move machines.

Offline grace

Activated Macs keep working offline for a limited grace period using license data stored in Keychain.

Restore never blocked

End Demo, Panic Restore, history export, and local data access remain available without a license.

Access rules

Licensing never traps a user mid-restore.

DemoCue can ask for payment without making recovery features scary. The trial and license check are only for starting a real demo execution.
